New Year, Same Story: Golden Bay Dead at Aqueduct, Generous George at Golden Gate

The first two racing kills for the New Year have been recorded:

2-year-old Golden Bay, under the whip for the very first time, broke down yesterday at Aqueduct (6th) and was euthanized in the dirt. Trainer, Linda Rice; owner, Francis Paolangeli; breeders, Richard Troncone Sr/Jr. On the other coast, 3-year-old Generous George did not survive the Golden Gate day after breaking down in the 7th. Trainer/owner, Alex Paszkeicz; breeder, George Kypros MD. (Apparently, the Hippocratic Oath doesn’t apply to horses.) This is horseracing, 2015.

  1. Also, I have heard there are problems re. ousting of trainers and horses at the former Calder track, now Gulfstream West. Some of the horses, it seems, have nowhere to go. I believe Churchill Downs is involved.

  2. Maybe everyone that has anything to do with the death of these beauties should take their place for one day…..and see what happens to them…

  3. Golden Bay and Generous George were equine babies. Whipped, forced to run, denied a normal existence. Dead. For YOUR entertainment, racing supporters!
