Todd Pletcher-trained Kamarius was vanned off after the morning “breeze” today at Saratoga and was subsequently euthanized. He was two. This is the eighth death at Saratoga since the meet began and ninth on the year. For all NY tracks, 75 kills and counting. And this, on Travers Day.

Kamarius made it pretty clear in June that he did not want to be a racehorse when he reared, kicked off his rider, got loose, and bolted in the paddock at Monmouth Park http://www.paulickreport.com/news/people/eddie-castro-injured-in-monmouth-paddock/
Poor baby! Well, in an ironic sort of way, he no longer needs to be a racehorse. Just wish he wasn’t while he was alive! That’s horseracing :(
In no other “sport” would this number of dead child-athletes be simply accepted as “just one of those things”.
RIP little Kamarius.
