  1. Concerning all the abuse and carnage the following illustrates another aspect that is swept under the rug : On he 21st of March a mare called Mess In a Dress was claimed by David Jacobson at Aqueduct for $16,000 and today, 24 March, he is running her @ the same track in a $25,000 claimer. That is less than 3 days between starts.

Shame on Jacobson but more shame on the NYRA and Aqueduct for allowing this….sick, sick.

    • Further, the mare has had 35 starts. She has been racing nonstop for 27 months. In 2012 she started 13 time; in 2013 she had 15 starts and so far, has started 5 time in the 3 months of 2014. She, essentially, is being run into the ground. Such is the life of the claimer. Charming, is it not ?

  2. Pure Afleet was on the Race horse memorial wall, yet possibly by mistake. The information only says ” vanned off”. Jacobson being the trainer, and his reputation for callousness, I hope she is ok. Her last race , was at Laurel Park, known as a race track where horses at the bottom of the money earnings are taken , when the trainer loses interest in them. Hopefully Pure Afleet , is at a race horse retirement facility or with a caring family. She has not actually been confirmed “dead” so it’s wait and see.
