  1. I’m so sorry for all these used and abused horses.
    As an example of what they endure at these tracks: Dixie Sparkle, who brokedown and died at Aqueduct on the 27th, started her racing “career” in Jan. 2013. She had 16 starts in one year as a 3 year old. Most of the time she was at that horrible track that is Aqueduct. She had 3 different trainers in that short time. Sad as her story is, I know there are many more stories as bad and worse. What a disgrace this industry is. Shame on everyone who makes money from such misery and looks the other way.

    PS There should be no winter racing at these northern tracks, period. That is just one more outrage in a litany of others.

  2. Amen, Rose! Mountaineer is a “hell hole” track in WV but at least they shut it down in January and February.
