Animal Abuser (Caught on Video) Brevin Lupton Is Welcomed Back in Ohio

Three years ago today, I posted the following ruling on Brevin Lupton in Oct 2023:

“A video was sent to the office of the Ohio Racing Commission which shows Mr. Lupton engaging in an act of cruelty to a horse. After a hearing in the judges office…Mr. Lupton is fined $1,000 and given a 365-day suspension for engaging in an act of cruelty to a horse and for conduct against the best interest of horse racing.”

To its credit, the USTA issued its own ruling: “The [USTA] condemns the cruel or inhumane treatment of any horse, and will not tolerate such actions. Accordingly, the USTA…has declared Lupton ineligible for licensing or membership…. Furthermore, the behavior is evidence of a lack of general fitness. Mr. Lupton’s continued participation in harness racing is not consistent with the best interest of the sport.”

(The USTA did the same in the Dale Hiteman case – a direct result of our action.)

Here is what Lupton did (acquired through our FOIA). Lupton is the kicker…

I finished that post with, “What more is there to say?” Well, turns out, more. This just came down from the Ohio Commission: “After a signed settlement agreement between Brevin Lupton and the Commission, Mr. Lupton is issued a $500 fine. Additionally, Mr. Lupton has been issued a probationary grooms license for the remainder of 2026.” So, this scumbag is back. Shame on you, Ohio.
