McClusky, dead after being ambulanced off in the 4th at Arapahoe Jul 11. He was five. The complicit: breeder Eric Scott Jensen, owner/trainer Rafael Barraza, jockey Nathan Haar. Barraza also had this poor boy “For Sale” – about as cheap as they come, $2,500 – immediately before his death race.
Rhaenys, dead after “taking a bad step” in the 9th at Colonial Jul 23. She was four. The complicit: breeder Bellary Bay Bloodstock, owner David Miller, trainer Jason Cook, jockey Samuel Marin. She, too, was “For Sale” right before dying.

All animals deserve to have some rights against abuse and cruelty, in this evil, sick minded earth we live on.
Some but not all of the wealthy, think that their power, keeps them safe. Well if we look back in time, just a century ago, how many of these rich, wealthy, carupt, lying, sick unconvicted, smerking people, never spent a day behind bars.
I often wonder, what if enough law abiding citizens were to get together and show up, to support the innocent animals lives, and push for more laws protecting them. While at the same time, showing photos of the suffering, cruelty and starvation these beautiful creatures experience, before they die.
Sorry for my honest, heart felt feelings, but I’ll do what ever I can to help save them and push for those accountable for the unconsciousable acts of evil.

Point taken, Sharon. A lot of people are seeing the destruction of democracy in this country. The world economy is being destabilized by the current administration. It is the consequences of Russell Vought and others of the Heritage Foundation who authored Project 2025 and Vought’s persistent push to get a felon convicted on 34 counts (which is only a fraction of the crimes this malignant narcissist has committed) into the office of president It appears obvious that we’re going down in flames because the current president and his billionaire oligarchs are implementing the destruction of the checks and balances that gave us democracy and some stability. In less than 60 days, we will see if people are allowed to exercise their right to vote or not. This dictatorship is not recognizing global warming or the basic health protocols needed to prevent people from dying of preventable diseases. This current administration is destabilizing the food supply for both humans and animals. The Artificial Intelligence data centers are a high priority for the ultra rich. Data centers demand high amounts of water and electricity. The cost of electricity for heating homes has gone through the roof due to the current take over by oligarchs. Basic needs of food and shelter are becoming unaffordable for more and more people than ever before. Saving horses from being transported to slaughter is expensive. Where are the funds going to come from when the economy is collapsing?

If the profiteers find their bank accounts hurt because they don’t respect horses they don’t have my sympathy. These are the same people that have 200 million per annum deposited into their bank accounts so if they lose a few million here or there, I won’t cry for them. My tears flow over homeless kid and homeless seniors, immigrants exploited for cheap labor at the race tracks and the farms. Slavery still exists in Kentucky it was just legalized and renamed (migrant labor). How many horses have to die 1 million??? 10 million??? These photos of autopsies of drugged horses has not influenced the State to apologize for the horrendous deaths of race horses. Hence, the exigency to consult the Bible and emulate what Jesus instructed and get out and do the moral work necessary to bring Justice and Compassion back into full authority and power. If I offend anyone with my suggestions I do not apologize. I work for Jesus and what He instructs I honor. And, for the record, for those who have the intensity of heart to save horses from atrocious injuries and death, I urge you to open the Bible and read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Focus on the instructions and examples of Jesus as to how to achieve moral responsibility and eternal life not just for humanity alone but for all God’s creatures as well.
Any nation that puts the profits of business before the welfare of humanity, the health of this planet and the protection of the helpless is doomed to die under the weapons of war. World War 3 is breathing down the necks of the free nations and the people are too blinded by big business to see that evil is on the march and the next victim will be earth and everything in it.
Sharon, the thing is that if anyone did put up a sign that said Lexington, Kentucky is the Equine Murder Capital of the World, the powers that be would be able to file a lawsuit against the offending party for libel even though the statement is based on facts rather than malice.

More horses intentionally exploited for racing and gambling were killed in New York State than in Kentucky the last time I checked the lists.
Both Lexington, Kentucky and Ocala, Florida claim to be the “Horse Capital of the World” so it should be recognized that Florida is also a HORSE-KILLING Capital of the World. There have also been reports of Thoroughbred racehorses lead by halter and lead rope/strap out into a wooded area and tied to a tree, shot dead between the eyes, then butchered for the meat. There is a black market for horse meat in Florida. It could be happening in other states also.

I am still in distress over the Aloha Beach and Bruhn tragedies. Lexingtonian Mayor Linda Gorton needs to be informed that The Breeder’s Cup Festival is a revolting display of callous disregard for the suffering and abuse of thoroughbreds. The Mayor’s office contact numbers are: 859-258-3100 and 859-258-3194. Indeed the horse racing industry is more dastardly in deeds than the infamous mobs that ruled Chicago in the days of Capone and Murder Incorporated. The death count for that era was according to police records was in the 7 hundreds as opposed to 12,459 equine hits. Nobody is doing autopsy results with drugs in the blood of these horses, but I would wager that every one of the victims has serious amounts of poisons swamping their hearts and veins.
I intend to inform Ms. Gorton that Lexington has earned the infamy of Being the Equine Murder Capital of the World. Kentucky breeds the horses, they sell them, they race them and they are disinterested that horses are dying in transit to the tracks, fires in the barns, but the cruelest indifference is when 12,459 horses are euthanized due to being raced on bones that cannot be repaired to full healing by surgery. Horses do not have strong bones when they are babies, just like humans they need to develop their balance, strength and vitality by natural growth and not on poisons that enhance speed. Steroids bulk up muscles they do not increase heart health or determination of courage. This mayor is focused on economic growth and is promoting a useless festival that celebrates brutality resulting in death to horses. The mayor needs to be reminded that as a former nurse it was her responsibility to save lives…well, this sweetheart needs to look into the mirror and ask herself what happened to her will to preserve life?
We need protesters who live in Kentucky to put up signs Welcome to Lexington, Kentucky, Equine Murder Capital of the World.
