“Roughed,” Fell, Dead at Parx

The full chart note for Chase a Dream in the 3rd at Parx yesterday: “Chase a Dream was roughed at the start, rallied wide into the stretch, was soundly bumped causing him to fall and subsequently be euthanized.”

“Roughed,” “soundly bumped,” fell, dead. Chase had just turned four, and this was his 13th time under the whip (and second in nine days). I would show you the replay but the cowards at Parx scrubbed it clean. By the way, the “offending” horse, Donnelly’s Hollow, “was disqualified and placed fourth for causing spill at the top of the stretch.” Vile.

  1. Again, these disgusting people are blaming the horses instead of the jockeys, the owners & trainers, and the whole sadistic bunch of diehard abusers of horses. This is unacceptable that no outside source is investigating this crime.

  2. “Soundly bumped” evidently means “crashed into and knocked down to the ground” in this context. This is animal abuse and everyone involved should be charged with criminal abuse of a horse. These people are not horsemen!
