In the 9th race at Santa Anita yesterday, Garden Party, said the chartwriter, “fell crossing onto the dirt and was transported off the track via ambulance.” In fact, she is dead, at four. In his tweet on the matter, the morally-challenged Ray Paulick wrote: “Condolences to owners John and Diane Fradkin [and] the Leonard Powell barn….” Yes, all the best to those with Garden’s blood on their hands. Vile.

We have always felt that the change in surface on the downhill course was a poor design! That setup is an accident waiting to happen with tired & compromised horses.
I truly do NOT trust these people involved in racing these beautiful animals….it’s past time to shut down this crummy, cruel, corrupt gambling sickness torture freak show. For those who claim this is their so called “job” …NO,it’s not a REAL job. Shut the killing factory down. Time to show we’re a country who stands behind our animals.
Changing the footing all of a sudden while forcing horses to gallop at top speed is assinine. Thoroughbreds are known for being FRAGILE. Is it any wonder when they are constantly drilled and grilled over and over day after day. If these people who claim to be horsemen cared about their horses at all, they would not subject their horses to this sadistic abuse of repetitive stress in the first place.
Yes, “condolences” (sarcasm) to the people who should be arrested for Animal Cruelty by sending their horse out to one of the most corrupt “regulated” racetracks in the world to die. >> Next victim…
Race 9 horse #4 Garden Party running last the whole race. The replay conveniently scrubbed the incident. This race is the barbaric downhill one that ArmsRunner a few years back fell when the turf turns to dirt. It doesn’t surprise it was undoubtedly the same spot as that previous heartbreak.
