Through a FOIA request to the Wyoming Gaming Commission, I have confirmed the following kills at that state’s tracks last year. Please note, however, that the Commission did not forward any training or stall deaths. I have questioned that and am awaiting a response. In the meantime, I believe it reasonable to view the following as incomplete.
Kdb Classy Dynasty, Jun 7, Energy R
“Broke RF ankle in clubhouse turn.” Kdb was two years old; this was her very first race.
Donna Lirica, Jun 8, Energy R
“Fell in stretch – broke LF below knee.” Donna was six years old; this was her 49th race.
Lets Go Tommijo, Jun 20, Energy R
“Broke RF at the wire.” Lets Go was three years old.
Jon L, Jul 20, Wyoming R
“Broke RF ankle in clubhouse turn.” Jon was six years old; this was his 41st race.
Chicken Nugget, Jul 20, Wyoming R (second kill at that track that day)
“Broke LF ankle at the wire.” Chicken was three years old.
Nick’s Attitude, Sep 13, Sweetwater R
“Broke RH femur at 1/8 pole.” Nick’s was two years old.

Just to be clear …the horse’s name is Doomed….not the vet.
Wanda, there’s a horse who is scratched from today’s race by a veterinarian…who is named Doomed. If that doesn’t say it ALL 🤬
Thanks for the heads up that the Wyoming Gaming Commission did not disclose stall deaths or training injuries and deaths. However, I personally view every list as being incomplete as a reflection on the horse racing industry and their playbook to attract people to gamble on the horses and to support the industry with tax dollars in the form of subsidies and tax write-offs.
As sickening as it is, there are still plenty of people who are okay with causing harm and death to horses for racing and gambling. The more the industry can hide it and whitewash it, the more chance that some people can be duped into thinking that “the horse is fine” unless they euthanize the horse on the track or if the horse dies of a sudden collapse during a race.
Failure and/or refusal to disclose horses killed in the stalls and in the morning training sessions is another way to hide and whitewash the carnage of innocent sentient beings.
It won’t be a surprise IF the Wyoming Gaming Commission fails or refuses to disclose the names of horses injured and killed in training or in their stalls.
