In the 6th at Delta Friday, Quinnsaltyofficer, says the chartwriter, “fell near the 5/16.” Then, Gatsby’s Fortune “fell over [his] fallen rival.” Both horses were “transported [off] on the ambulance.” The replay barely catches it – but how horrific it is. Watch till the end to see the “Winner’s Circle” in full swing – children and all. How do these people sleep at night? Incidentally, both victims were up “For Sale” (cheap: $5K) just prior to the race.
Also, at Laurel yesterday, Thunder Cry “dropped back while traveling erratically, fell after hitting the rail” and subsequently “walked off.” However, it was later reported by the stewards that the 3-year-old had “bled” – shorthand for pulmonary hemorrhage, of course. So, this poor boy was probably “traveling erratically” and probably “hit the rail” because he was bleeding in his lungs. No words.
Eventually these morally depraved people won’t have enough horses to fill the race card.
