Please note that the ethically-challenged announcer, Jessica Paquette, said nary a word about the fall when it occurred, being, as she was, far too invested in the titillating finish. In fact, it took her about a minute to even acknowledge something had happened, and even then it was about the jockey being “back on his feet after a spill at the back.”
This was 1 of the worst race calls we have ever listened to. Just shows that the racing industry is rapidly declining with this race caller & scraping the bottom of the barrel.. No clear description of what`s occurring either early or later on in the race. No acknowledgement of the poor Depoli breaking down at all!
It’s because she stinks at her “job”, and is oblivious. She probably never even noticed the horse fell until well into the finish. The horse looked like he was exhausted and was traveling poorly. Supposedly, he walked off, but I can’t imagine he is currently healthy.
It takes a sociopath, a person with no empathy, to knowingly continue to participate in this inhumane so-called sport that exploits horses to their death. These greedy people cause so much pain and suffering to the horses by this daily routine mistreatment. The confinement to box stalls for 23 hours a day, the doping to mask pain and enhance performance, the whipping, the use of illegal electric shock devices on the horses, all for manipulation of the outcome of a race, purse money, gambling payouts, and tax write-offs.
These sociopathic people belong in jail for their abuse of horses.
