The CHRB has just disclosed (five days later) that Chosen Son died training at Santa Anita last Sunday. It was “non-musculoskeletal,” so this was likely a “sudden death” of one kind or another (heart, lungs, etc.). He was three years old and coming off his debut. He becomes the 19th horse killed at Santa Anita this year.
