The chart line for Kaholo in the 5th at Gulfstream yesterday: “Kaholo…led into upper stretch, lost action and fell inside of the furlong marker and was euthanized on the track.” What’s more, two other horses fell over their “fallen rival,” with one – Kung Foo – also being “vanned off.” Kaholo was two years old.
Same track, a few races later: “Prince of Danger…lost action nearing the quarter marker and was euthanized on the track.” Prince was three years old.
That’s two “athletes” killed on the same day, in the same arena. Horseracing a sport? Only to the callous and/or willfully ignorant.
A still shot of Kaholo’s final moments on this planet…

Tom and Marie, I don’t have any accounts that access the races through the gambling venues and I don’t download the video replays from the Equibase charts. I do however plink away googling different search words online and sometimes find what I am looking for.
Search words: video of kaholo race # 5 Gulfstream Park November 2, 2025…
The top video listed on this search is TWO KILLS IN ONE DAY. RIP KAHOLO & PRINCE OF DANGER
11.2.25 @GulfstreamParkRacing
This is the only one that I could find that was not cut to hide the egregious THREE HORSE SPILL.
It looks like VALUE INTHE CLOUDS fell over KAHOLO and then KUNG FOO fell over those two horses.
Tom- I was able to see it that day only because as soon as I saw it live, I was already logged into my betting accounts, and was trying to see what actually happened, as I was only half paying attention to my TV. (I don’t bet, but they’re free and you can watch races from around the world.) The one betting site edited the replay by the time they posted it, but the other site had not yet. Neither – for obvious reasons- ever posted the head on replay. Trust me, racing will do whatever it can to cover these incidences, even though they keep touting and bragging about increased transparency. I never tried to watch it later on that day, because as soon as I saw what actually happened I was done with it. So I’m sure they probably took the video down by then, or chopped the whole thing out with editing.
Tom Streda, if you want to find a replay of the THREE HORSE SPILL with KAHOLO being the first one of the three horses going down, you can access the information on Equibase. You can read the chart and possibly download the video from there also. Another source of the video replay is on YouTube/warhorse.
Marie,
You were able to see it on replays? I could not find one video which showed the accident. Everything was cut out and there was no mention of the accident on local, national or other news. I even checked youtube and other social media channels. Everything got covered up. I saw one article 2 days later on Paulick Report.
It looks like everybody (news stations, race track, emergency services) is conspiring to cover up that jockeys got hurt and horses had to be put down. The current situation is unacceptable and needs to change. We need to demand oversight and transparency, especially if these people are relying on our dollars to run racetracks and casinos.
To Anita Michael,
This IS REGULATED horseracing!!!!!
Unregulated racing doesn’t report to anyone.
Horseracing will never be a so-called “level playing field” for horses or jockeys. Jockeys have a choice to stop participating in this inhumane scammy industry. Horses are forced into this daily routine mistreatment of horses for racing and gambling. Horses don’t have a choice in regulated OR unregulated racing.
People do have a choice to stop participating in this horrific abuse of horses for racing and Pari-mutuel gambling.
Thomas – your comment is exactly what I was hoping to hear. That people saw this horror and would hopefully never return – and instead would spread the word. I knew he broke at least one- but would not be surprised if it was both fronts, as hard as he was trying to win. It looked gruesome when I saw it live and was even worse on the replays I saw.
It’s just cruel are we that desperate for entertainment to purposely Injure horses enough is enough the time to end these outdated sports is now it’s not even a sport if you want to bet on stuff bet on football boxing basketball there are other things to bet on instead of killing horses
When horse racing is finally regulated, and all the doping is stopped, only then, will it be a level playing field for both horses and jockeys.
Please I urge PETA to work on banning this abuse .I had posted on a site. I think horse racing/ horse riding / horse breeding in the name of sports is extremely cruel.
Stop this insane cruelty. It’s gone on long enough and so many innocent horses have died. Go find another hobby that doesn’t involve the death of an innocent animal!!
It happened right in front of Carousal club, where I was at the time. Literally 15 feet in front of me. One horse was so messed up, it didn’t even try to get up. Legs with obvious breakages. The other horses involved were out of my view. The horse which the staff rode in on was in visible distress just by looking at it. Jockey laying on the ground for 20min without moving. The staff put up a temporary fence to cover the view, while the horses were put down by the time I left. This was a horrific incident which caused me to re-asses my coming there. No immediate news on tv or internet. Looked like it was being covered up. Awful
Wanda, 100% agree. Hate the term ” Rival”. Warhorse has an excellent view of Kaholo breaking down as the poor horse was leading the race. Very sad.
VALUE INTHE CLOUDS fell over another fallen horse in the three horse spill. I am not sure if he fell over KAHOLO or KUNG FOO, but was forced to walk off the track under his own power. His jockey got a broken ankle.
I can’t stand what they do to these horses in the first place but then they do this other cowardly thing; they leave people in the dark about what injuries the other two horses might have suffered from falling over fallen “rivals” as they refer to the horses being forced and whipped by jockeys to run in the same race. I hate their terminology of calling horses “rivals” when referring to human beings abusing horses for racing and gambling.
Marie that is just horrible that the jockey hit Kahola so hard that the hit literally broke him! After seeing a mare we had galloped in the mornings break both her front legs racing in 2004 is when we decided to walk away while we still could. Hopefully other people will do the same after seeing this.
I think the racetrack management at Gulfstream, as well as any other racetrack, would want to attempt to mislead people as much as they think they can get away with.
For people who are not completely desensitized to the carnage, they ought to be able to reason logically that there is no true horsemanship involved in these types of events that use animals as a form of entertainment and a source of revenue.
Racing exploits IMMATURE young and underdeveloped colts and fillies to gallop at top speed while carrying the weight of a rider carrying a whip while rodeo exploits horses for bucking by putting a flank cinch on the them to force them to buck. Putting a flank cinch on a horse to cause the horse complete distress and to fight it by bucking is not horsemanship! It’s abuse!
With forcing horses to gallop at top speed while carrying a rider with a whip and possibly a buzzer (illegal electrical shocking device), being confined to a stall for the majority of the horse’s life, and being injected with substances that alter the performance of the horse is not horsemanship! It’s abuse!
Bottom line is these so-called “sports” are abusive and it is sickening that people are oblivious to the suffering of the horses and/or they enjoy the CRUELTY to the horses. These things should be addressed as abusive acts against horses.
The replay..blipped out but the horse with yellow maybe #4 riderless and on all fours over the finish line. Aside from all the tradgedies listed we can add 4 more over the weekend from the UK. (Racehorse death watch). This all comes from a civilized countries and for what? She’s Quality is from Ireland flown 5100 miles to participate in a 2 minute race and will not go home again. For what? Please ask yourself and find an answer why humans participate in this indignity. Sad sad sad
Fred N Joan- trust me- people saw exactly what was happening with Kaholo- it happened a few feet from the finish line. The jockey gave him a huge hard hit with the whip, then his right front leg snapped as he put it down. I noticed that most people weren’t watching what was going on in the winners circle- which was just about where his fall happened – they were too busy watching him. I hope that at least a few people walked out- never to return- when that happened right in front of them.
RIP, Kaholo and Prince of Danger
Take down those crummy screens so the gamblers & viewers of racing can see what they are really supporting with their $$ & attendance! We thought everything was supposed to be open & transparent in a public venue. Do away with the screens & allow the public to see reality of racing.
