The NYS Gaming Commission reports that Active Duty was killed training at Finger Lakes yesterday: “During a.m. exercise, horse dropped and expired.” The “dropped/expired” horse was six years old – an age at which horses are just entering the prime of life.
Out on the other coast, says the CHRB, Hidden Speed was killed in the 8th race at Los Alamitos Sunday. He was two; his is the 19th (that we know about) kill at Los Al this year.

HIDDEN SPEED, a Quarter Horse gelding and a sentient being, never had a chance at being treated like the way a horse should be treated. He was owned by the owner of Los Alamitos racecourse and prolific serial killer of horses for fun and profit, Edward Allred.
Since there is less oversight on what illegal substances are used on Quarter Horse racehorses than Thoroughbred racehorses, I can only suspect that this doomed young and underdeveloped gelding had been injected with steroids and vasodilators. I don’t have proof but this doping of racehorses is common practice among these despicable people.
