The NYS Gaming Commission reports this for 9-year-old Freudnme at Finger Lakes Sunday: “unresolved respiratory and airway conflict, collapsed in stall, euthanized.” Yes, ’twas a “conflict.” Out on the other coast, the CHRB says that 6-year-old Giant Game died at Santa Anita Friday, no details.
Treatment vs no treatment would probably define what the “conflict” was.
Even such basic care as deworming is overlooked in this business even though these parasites can cause serious health problems including colic…
The CHRB is another example of California tax dollars being wasted on a useless organization where people are afraid to speak out.
However, if the new authoritarian power grab is successfull, there will be free speech for everyone and the horses will be saved!!

Does anyone believe that the people who participate in horse racing and gambling at Finger Lakes racetrack have any credibility at all? Are there any veterinarians at Finger Lakes who are the kind of individuals that you would trust to take your family dog to? I have my serious doubts that anyone at Finger Lakes could be trusted.
Using the language of “unresolved conflict” when referring to a breathing issue in a horse exploited for racing does not instill confidence at all!
The unresolved conflict is that many people did not want the basic subsidies to horseracing to continue. Many people, including some NY Assembly members among them, wanted the basic subsidies to New York horseracing tracks to be terminated and have the funds redirected to other things that improve the quality of life for the general population. Instead, there was the $455 million dollar state-backed bond loan to the New York Racing Association which also locks in all of the basic subsidies so they can’t be terminated to horse racing in New York and redirected to education and infrastructure.
Meanwhile, horses are continually being abused, neglected and killed because that’s how these greedy die-hard horse-abusing horse-killers operate and not all of them are being charged with Animal Cruelty as they should be. The unresolved conflict between the people who commit the heinous acts of cruelty to horses and the people who want to see the abuse and the killing of horses stopped continues as unresolved.
I wonder what an airways “conflict” is? I have never heard anything phrased that way. And why was it unresolved? No veterinary care? The horse is allowed to collapse because he couldn’t breathe? These people are sick.
