On May 9, Mustique, as we previously reported, was transported off the Churchill track in an ambulance. We now know she is dead. This from the Racing Commission: “filly suffered a catastrophic injury to her right foreleg and was humanely euthanized.” Mustique was three years old; ’twas her fourth time under the whip.
There is/was nothing humane about the way this young filly was exploited while she was alive.
These people should be penalized for Animal Cruelty! Subsidizing this horrific cruelty is just wrong.
End the subsidies to horseracing. Penalize this dastardly cruelty to horses.
