A forced training regimen imposed on very young and underdeveloped colts and fillies is a recipe for disaster. It is a proven fact that the forcing of young horses to perform as though they were mature horses causes degenerative joint disease as well as other serious problems including the bursting of the air sacs in the lungs.
Chris, the trainers give them a training regime of forced running usually starting at an age of about 18 month which is only a fraction of the age of maturity.
When the horses bleed from the lungs, it’s called Exercise Induced Pulmonary Hemorrhage. Everything about this forcing young horses to run fast carrying the weight of a rider with a whip is abuse rather than horsemanship.
Could you please tell me what they give these poor horses so they bleed in their lungs and discharge blood through their noses?
Every person who participated in the abuse of these horses should be charged with Animal Cruelty. No person should be given a free pass to cause injuries to horses. Horseracing should be banned.
It’s a no-brainer that has been proven over and over again that the horses suffer from repetitive stress. The industry insiders knowingly and repeatedly cause harm and death to horses and should be charged with the crimes against horses that they commit daily.
