Key Point yesterday at Belmont, according to the Gaming Commission: “Horse stumbled after breezing a half-mile – collapsed and died on the track.” That would be another training kill at Belmont – the 5th such in the past two weeks. This, folks, is why I have said from the start that HISA was, and remains, but a marketing measure. Horseracing is not, as they claim, “getting safer” – we prove it day in, day out. If you have even a scintilla of doubt, look at our lists. Key Point was five years old – “collapsed and died on the track.”

Despite the magnificent work of Horse Racing Wrongs and other dedicated groups that strive to bring justice to race horses, (heritage mustangs, carriage horses, draft horses, Tennessee Walkers, Premarin mares and foals), the atrocities are increasing and justice is suppressed.
I have been ruminating on this problem and I think that way to defeat the vile and the vicious is to form a universal union….an international committee of experts opposed to equine abuse. There is power in numbers especially when the people recruited have the vitality and persistent energy to work relentlessly on behalf of equine protection. It is particularly revolting that criminal trainers, vets, jockeys, gate crews, etc. are free to abuse horses without fear of punishment.
By establishing a universal committee of experts from other nations all working toward the same goal will definitely achieve more authority and power because advocates will be exchanging ideas, sharing what worked or didn’t work in their campaigns, plus historically coalitions get results.
Look at the results of the justice paladins who brought war criminals to trial, the Continental Congress fought England and brought the United States into existence, Cesar Chavez and his successful work on behalf of migrant workers, Martin Luther King, Jr. organizing the March on Washington…the battle for equine protection can be won, but it has to come with the vitality and energy of citizens determined to win justice for horses and who will not come off the battle field until every horse abuser is punished appropriately by judge and jury.
The history of killing horses for the amusement of the affluent, the barbaric and the ugly must end in the year 2025! Additionally, wanted posters with Baffert, Lukas, et al featuring the notorious number of their equine murders. These people belong behind prison bars for their malignant and atrocious crimes against helpless horses. If you agree, sign the international petition demanding their arrest on charges of felony abuse against horses.
If all racetracks reported all of the horses each one killed in a race or training or in a stall or some other mishap or dastardly deed, the list of horses killed by/in this industry would be overwhelmingly much longer.
