Arctic Fire, ambulanced off the Ferndale track Friday, has been confirmed (CHRB) dead. She was six years old. The complicit: breeder/owner Sue Gilmour, trainer James Gilmour, jockey Cristobal Herrera, and all who support the horseracing industry in any way.
Also, the CHRB says, Truly Magical was felled at Del Mar yesterday – “musculoskeletal” is all they’re saying. She was three. Complicit (among others): trainer Brian Koriner.
Oh, wonderful. Just another proud Monday for the CHRB. I’m confident next month’s meeting will feature ZERO public information about the killing of poor Truly Magical at Del Mar. In fact, we won’t even hear her name at all — even in Doc Blea’s dreadful monotone as he faithfully delivers his, um, “Report” (Monthly Death Count, but with a whole lot of exclusions.)
