Nov 9: “English Treasure fell approaching the finish and required the assistance of the horse ambulance. It was [later] determined that he had suffered a catastrophic injury to his left foreleg.” Dead. The “he,” by the way, was actually a she. But who can be bothered with details like that. English was five years old; ’twas her 13th time under the whip.
Nov 15: “Flying B B finished 10th and required the assistance of the horse ambulance. After diagnostics, it was determined that the horse had suffered a catastrophic injury to his left foreleg and he was humanely euthanized.” Flying was but two years old, and this was his very first race.
In California, the CHRB reports that Promisemeparadise was felled while training at Golden Gate Sunday. They’re calling it “non-musculoskeletal,” which typically means a sudden death of some sort. Promise was just three years old.
This is horseracing.
They can’t even get English Treasures gender right…..13 races in a short time. Probably over worked between races… Ones they think will do good at the track get extra show off training so people see their “”loved”” horse… But they love that horse they promise… They’ll miss her they promise…. They’re crying they promise (I bet you their not… That’s a promise I can prove). Poor Mare over raced till her poor legs literally gave out Oh but they’re sad… Only sad because their gravy boat isn’t alive to torture anymore.
Second Horse…. He’s two. …. Why is racing a 2 yr old who’s still growing and their bones and joints still forming their full perfect structures … But this poor baby never had a chance did he. First race. Likely scared out of his mind. And in pain. And wondering why he was hurt…. He should have still been at a farm somewhere still growing and allowing to finish his bones and joints forming.
Third Horse… No idea Why he died…. He just dropped dead in Training. No horse or human for that fact ever just drops dead for no reason. It’s likely this poor horse was raced till his heart gave out or his brain bleed and he had a stroke. Over training and pushing and whipping and forcing the tired horse to keep doing this makes this happen
One guy I knew said his “”beloved”” racehorse loved racing so much he ran till his heart busted. No asshole you ran him into the ground and made him have a massive heart attack. Oh but he loved his horse too…. He promised as well.
Horse was still dead.
And he quickly moved on to the next one… Dead horse he stopped giving a damn about before the body was cold.

The factory farming of horses for racing and wagering needs to be stopped.
It’s ironic that they refer to themselves as “humane” to euthanize Flying BB when his life ending injuries were caused by this completely inhumane industry. He would be sound and healthy if it weren’t for landing in the hands of people who just don’t care what they do to these horses.
All of this horrendous callous disregard for the pain and suffering and harm and death caused to horses in addition to the deception of the number of horses killed doesn’t change the fact that the total numbers of live horses that can be forced into the starting gates are dwindling.
The “inventory” of racehorses that are considered “viable” enough to cram into a starting gate as gambling objects by these pseudo-horsemen and pseudo-horsewomen is in decline.
They can brag all they want that such and such racetrack has 12 horses in each race and on a 9 race card. They can do the smoke and mirrors “magic” tricks all they want, but the truth is that these people are guilty of violating the laws of common decency let alone so many other laws. There is no shortage of greed and evil in this animal abusing industry.
There is just cause to terminate all of the government subsidies and government-directed benefits including tax write-offs and tax exemptions to this industry.
There is just cause to enforce the laws regarding Animal Welfare and Business Conduct in this industry.
This abuse of horses should be punished not subsidized.
How much diagnosing is needed to determine a catastrophic injury? Like you can’t tell what’s what when a leg has just exploded all over the track? Honestly, it’s beyond disgusting that these parasites are forcing critically injured horses into ambulances and shlepping them to Timbuktu just to fudge their fatality numbers.
I was wondering how long it would take for them to admit that English Treasure is dead. I had read she walked into the ambulance “under her own power”. How sickening.
