Dead: Exotic Sin, Dashing Roja, Run Juja Run

In the 5th at Evangeline last night, Equibase reports this for 3-year-old Exotic Sin: “dwelt at the start, raced back, pulled up in distress in the turn and was euthanized.”

The latest Oak Tree (California) Stewards Minutes report this for 4-year-old Dashing Roja in the 1st last Saturday: “left front fetlock disarticulation just past finish line – euthanized.” (Equibase, by the way, merely said “pulled up lame, vanned off.”)

The NYS Gaming Commission has disclosed the following for 4-year-old Run Juja Run: “raced on 6/19, laminitis without resolution – euthanized.” In her final four races (Oaklawn, Churchill, Finger Lakes), Run Juja Run finished a combined 86 lengths back.

Dead animals, every day – this is horseracing.
