Share the spirit of the season while being a voice for the horses! This set of 10 beautiful 5×7 holiday cards showcases original artwork by artist, illustrator, animal advocate, Lisa Goldberg, inspired by the rescued horse Halos and her equine companions. The design reflects the warmth, kindness, and joy we wish for all creatures, with a heartfelt message inside:
“May your holidays be filled with warmth, kindness, and joy for all creatures great and small. Wishing you a season of happiness and a New Year brimming with love and compassion!”
A note from Lisa: I typically work in mixed-media layers when I create art, combining abstract and figurative elements. Often, as in this painting, my first layer is handwriting. Sometimes it’s stream of consciousness, sometimes it’s a quote or series of quotes that speak to me. In this piece I worked over top of the writing, using collage, watercolor pencil, acrylic paint, and ink. My favorite subject matter is animals, because they and their suffering are always on my mind. I’m truly honored that Nicole and Patrick asked me to create the artwork for their holiday card this year, and to be able to support their incredible work in this small way. The two horses and the scene here were inspired by photos Nicole shared with me of beautiful, rescued horse, Halos, and the friends with whom she now gets to enjoy her life.
