On August 1st at Indiana, 2-year-old Vindiania was a “bled” DNF. On October 28th, he was raced again – 9th of 10, 25+ lengths back. He has not been heard from since. Most recent connections: C. Steve Larue, James Bickett.

On August 2nd at Ruidoso, 4-year-old Hombre de La Noche was vanned off. He resurfaced at Zia seven weeks later – last of 10. He has not been heard from since. Most recent connections: Gene Burden, Luis Rogelio Nava.

On August 4th at Penn, 4-year-old Dark Alley was a “stumbled badly” DNF. He was put to the whip twice more in the ensuing 24 days: 9th, 8th. He has not been heard from since. Most recent connections: Flint Stites, Short Straw Stable.

On August 14th at Charles Town, 3-year-old Jimmy Jack “fell over a fallen rival…and walked off with blood coming out of his left nostril.” He was raced twice after: last of 10, last of 10 – the latter, 31+ back. He has not been heard from since November. Most recent connections: David Walters, Mountain View Racing.
