Yesterday on American tracks:

In the 1st at Pimlico, Ellies Tattle Tale, five years and one day old, broke down and can be presumed dead. It was the gelding’s 6th time under the whip in 2015: 8th of 9 (16+ lengths back), disqualified, 7th of 10 (22+ back), last of 7 (37 back), last of 7 (16+ back). Most recent connections: Willie Kee, Kavita Springs Racing.

Also, 3-year-old Evening Light was a “pulled up, vanned off” in the 6th at Turf. This was the filly’s second “career” start; her first was two weeks ago (also at Turf) – “pulled up, vanned off.” Two for two. Connections: Greg Tracy, Darrell Landry.

And finally, in the 2nd at Fonner, 3-year-old Diamonds Finest “reared badly to hit his head hard on the top of the stall in the starting gate then stumbled when coming down, saved ground and moved up late then pulled up in distress.” But fear not, the chartwriter says, for the brave warrior “walked off under his own power.”

Happy Easter.
