6-year-old Jamminjl’s run in the 11th at Monmouth yesterday, in the words of the chartwriter: “raced off the pace inside, moved up two wide on the far turn, then was injured entering the stretch and fell, euthanized after.” Dead. Also noted: “Pure Elegance slammed into injured rival [yes, the-about-to-die Jamminjl], DNF.” But here’s what’s really important: “After a Stewards’ Inquiry into the incident, the race was declared official.”
This is horseracing.

STOP BETTING ON THEIR LIVES! TOO MANY ARE DYING THESE ARE BABIES RUNING THEIR HEART OUT FOR HUMANS THAT MOSTLY ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY
So many deaths, always referred to as a bad step, fell short, etc., anything but the saying the truth…catastrophic injury, dangling front limb, etc!
This vile industry doesn’t even stop the race the mourn the loss of their so-called loved like family Horse.
There is no safety in horse racing, there is no reform in horse racing, only death, severe injury and the slaughter pipeline!
This sounds so “business as usual” which it really is. The public needs to be
continually reminded that this truly is horseracing.
Thank You Rick. Truer words never spoken.
So sad to hear, they didn’t say anything after the race to let us know how she was. I had a bet on her because I thought she looked so beautiful and in peak condition. I will never bet on a horse again after this, she should have had many years ahead of her. Rest in peace, poor girl.
Thank you for this.
I found the replay of this race. The poor horse, horrible fall. Sickening.
