Every day that goes by, there are horses being subject to the cruelty inherent to the horseracing industry. It’s a very depressing thought.
Agreed Wanda. We know of a Kentucky bred, almost 3 year old filly, who is entered to run in a few days in a special maiden weight race at Keeneland that the owners admit has a hind leg that has a clubbed foot! They have her entered in a $100,000 purse race. Its all about the $$ bragging rights. The owner / trainer is entering the filly against her ex-husband who has a filly in the same race! Appalling what these horses go through for evening the score types of people.
That sounds absolutely horrible that anyone would race a filly with a club foot in addition to all of the other things that are so typically wrong about this industry. I hate calling it a sport even though that is how our society categorizes horseracing with legalized Pari-mutuel wagering.
I hate it when people abuse animals at all and then make it worse by abusing animals as an act of hateful, spiteful revenge against another person. #EndHorseracingNOW
It should be recognized as a criminal act in cases like this of using the horses to attempt to get even with someone else.
Another week and another list of casualties and most likely not anywhere near the correct list. This is so sad and no one seems to be paying any attention to this horrific abuse inflicted upon these poor horses. JHC when will the idea of the $2.00 bet just blowup and end this tragic cycle of abuse. It isn’t even about the number of dead it is also about the ones that are still alive and probably wishing they were dead from the abuse. F*ck I hate people!!!!
