Caramelito, a “pulled up in distress, vanned off” in the 7th at Turfway Feb 10, is indeed dead – euthanized “due to poor prognosis” (Racing Commission) at a Lexington clinic. Caramelito was five years old, and this was his 36th time under the whip.

Injured by racing and killed by racing, CARAMELITO was born on March 23, 2017.
Horseracing is horse-killing. Anyone who engages in this egregious cruelty to horses should be punished for Animal Cruelty and put in jail for a long, long time.
Animal Welfare needs to be taken seriously and not just something that people pay lip service to; and that includes the veterinarians who engage in the daily routine cruelty to horses called “horseracing” and/or the “S**** of Kings” which is egregiously barbaric.
Whoa, slow down there with all that death reporting transparency, KY Commissioners. Took (almost!) less than a WEEK after his killing for you to officially confirm Caramelito’s racing death? That kind of time frame is unheard of for you guys. Are you absolutely sure he didn’t survive?
Or, rather, are y’all getting a little jumpy knowing the courts will probably order HISA to release their collected TB Death Reports in the very near future? (You wouldn’t want to be caught holding out from the public AND the Feds, now, would you?;)
If we can end the racing of horses, we can stop this cruelty!
