Wow what a ugly breakdown. I think I saw the back leg break too. No horse should go through this
Last week 4 riders went down at Parx. Do you have any info on that?
We don’t follow jockey injuries.
I get that. My comment was a point of reference to hone in on a major mishap where I saw 2 or more horses tumble down and roll. The video race was not replayed. I was watching the race on RTN. I will keep looking.
My understanding is that all the horses survived.
ARE YOU AWARE OF THE HUGE NUMBERS OF HORSES SUFFERING DEATH LIKE THIS ON RACETRACKS. SHUT THEM DOWN. NO PUBLIC MONEY FOR THIS ASSAULT ON HORSES LIVES. NO PUBLIC MOONEY. GOT THAT. DONT TAX US FOR THIS KIND OF SUPPORT FOR THIS HORSE ABUSE.
I’m not sure if the jockey lost his balance and fell off, or if he decided to go ahead and make it slightly easier on the horse by falling off on purpose. The chartwriter cannot say with accuracy that the horse was pulled up, because the rider fell off and the horse came to a stop with a broken right hind leg on his own.
Either way, the horse had to endure this heinous abuse and brutality which some people call a sport. This so-called sport ought to be terminated from all government subsidies and government-directed benefits of any kind and recognized by law as the Felony Animal Cruelty that it is.
How can anyone who has a conscience, empathy, decency see this or know it happens and remain silent? And for those who handle the horses and walk them to the track(and don’t return) how sad. Condoning this ugly past time and not leaving it in the dust needs another good look.
Don’t you just ‘love’ how the commentator says that the ‘jockey has been unseated’….of course he had, the poor, innocent horse has just sustained TWO? broken legs so what else was the horse supposed to do??? Carry on running to earn their heartless, gutless, soul-less POS owners a few measly dollars in prize money?
So the announcer briefly describes this heinous abuse of a horse by saying “the horse went amiss and lost his rider” and the race continues without one injured horse. This is despicable and the people who can do this to horses without a conscience are morally depraved.
