  1. Here are examples of the types of horses that those in this industry expect us, the non-racing folks, to hurry up and find homes for after they’ve wrecked them.

    • Exactly, Marie.
And the industry has no shame when good hearted folks rescue some of their used up and abused horses. Some of these folks don’t realise how much money it’s going to cost them to look after the horse. I’ve seen people go into debt. Many ex-racehorses are damaged both physiologically and psychologically and cannot be rehabilitated. And it’s quite common for a rescuer to get a vet assessment of the horse only to be told that there is much wrong with the horse requiring expensive veterinary treatment and a great deal of care by rescuer. As we know some are euthanased – Joy Aten has written about this.

  2. How is it possible to not hate the people that do this to horses? How is it possible to not hate the people who have the gall to say that the horses are not being mistreated?

    • It’s not possible. I can’t find it in my heart at the moment.
