Colt Killed in First Ever Race

The 7th at Turfway yesterday was Man in Full’s first ever race. It was also his last: “fell nearing the quarter pole,” and, I can confirm, euthanized. He was four years old.

This is horseracing.

  1. This four-year-old colt named MAN IN FULL does not come up on a google search this morning. I don’t know what state he was born in or if he was sold at auction or anything about his background. Sometimes these colts have been through the overly demanding Keeneland, Fasig-Tipton or Ocala Breeders’ sales as Yearlings and Two-Year-Olds-In-Training which are like meat-grinders. As far as the human participants are concerned, it is about the money they make off of the horses so compromising the soundness of the colts and fillies doesn’t appear to be a concern. All of these auctions and all of the racetracks should be shut down forever!!!! The horses don’t deserve this abuse!!!!

  2. What did the connections do to him for the first three years of his life, I wonder, to cause him to breakdown the first time he was run in a race?

  3. Something was very wrong with Man in Full.
That was borne out in his very first race just 2 months short of his 5th birthday.
He was sent to his death.

    • I think the connections sent him out to race like a lab rat in an experiment. They knew what was wrong to wait until he was four years old. I speculate that he suffered an injury as a Yearling, or as a TWO year old,
and it’s possible that he was born with an obvious predisposition to a near fatal breakdown so they waited thinking about how they could get away with sending him out to race. Race horses and lab rats have a lot in common.

      • Thats a good possibility. A serious, early injury.. Leading to an extended wait for first race.
In this scenario; he would have been an experiment. With a much greater chance at a breakdown.

        • It’s a steaming pile of shit … racing that is. The lazy leeches in this killing torture industry need to go get a REAL job,and should never be allowed to work with animals ever again!!!!!
