As you know, Laurel Park has recently been in the news for both a pile of dead horses and a subsequent (temporary) closure. While we were able to garner some media on this, it’s crucial that we not let up. That’s where local activists come in. And on that, over the past couple years there have been no more dedicated voices than Jennifer Sully and Peter Herrera, with the pair having organized close to a combined 50 protests at Laurel, Pimlico, and Delaware Park. Saturday, Jennifer, Peter, and a host of others were at Laurel fighting the fight. Both NBC Baltimore and CBS Baltimore covered the protest. A warm thank you to all who came out…

The pictures of those horses in the slaughterhouses are heartbreaking, but powerful. People need to see the horrible, bloody truth.

I am so grateful to everyone who participated in the protests against horse racing and for continuing to work together on future protests at Laurel Park and as many other racetracks as possible!!!
Thanks so much! To Jennifer, Peter and ALL the activists who helped, donated, and/ or participate in these protests!
END Horseracing NOW!!
The photos in the slaughterhouse are sickening and heartbreaking. If the videos of the injured and dying horses on the track are not enough, maybe these horrific images will stir the hearts and minds of those who approve of the abuse and who find horse racing entertainment. No one in their right mind would dismiss the abuse and death of these magnificent animals. The killing is tragic and I salute the protestors for bringing the truth to light for all to see.
Keep up the good fight! 💪🏼
Thank you, Protesters, so much!
Jennifer, Peter, Big Bruno and ALL who faithfully stand and speak up for the racehorses suffering in silence at Laurel, Pimlico and DP, I truly cannot thank you enough!
THANK YOU — thank you.
