Bellinger Dead; That’s 2 Kills in 2 Races at Keeneland Friday

Last Friday, I reported on at least one kill during Keeneland’s first two races that day. I can now confirm that it was indeed two: Bellinger, a “pulled up, vanned off” in the 2nd, has been euthanized. He was two years old; this was his third time under the whip.

  1. Keeneland is synonymous with causing fatal injuries to young exploited colts and fillies. All of the human participants in this egregious cruelty to horses belong in prison. The people who kill horses deserve solitary confinement and isolation for twenty-three hours a day, seven days a week and to be let out in shackles and chains to do hard manual labor for one hour a day. The horses don’t deserve what these greedy psychopaths dish out to them.

  2. Wait, what? The fine folks at Keeneland actually admitted to the two back-to-back kills everybody knew they’d committed? And within a few DAYS, not months, after their double-feature horror show? How unKentucky-like of them.
Usually the KY tracks wait half a year or so to disclose their victims’ condition to the public (either dead, or soon-to-be-dead, depending on how much blood money their loving connections might still be able to squeeze out of them). Gives ’em time to conduct a thorough “investigation” (ha ha) into each of their daily racehorse kills.
