The NYS Gaming Commission has disclosed the death of Madrone at Saratoga this past Friday – “neurologic disorder…euthanized due to poor prognosis.” Madrone was two years old and being prepped for his first race. He becomes the 15th dead horse at Saratoga this year – right at the track’s historical average. Reform is a ruse, safe racing a lie. This industry kills horses as a matter of course.

Those neurological deaths are every bit as suspicious as the vague “sudden deaths” that plague the racing industry. Obviously so much more going on – and none of it for the good of the horses.
These are all motherfucker lying excuses! They probably just kill the ones that are not doing well on the racetrack! They don’t make enough off the horses and so it’s easier just to kill them! why can’t we kill the people instead that are involved with this horrifying, disgusting, immoral, unethical, reviled “business”!!???!!!! May they all burn in hell!!!
Bravo, Rebecca and Randi. The health problems bred into racing thoroughbreds are ENTIRELY the fault of every single sick creep who’s still involved in this disgusting anti-sport in any way. These lab mutations that are “bred” for the track are the direct product of the whole, perverted, chemicalized industry of evil, Nazi non-scientists who seek their “perfect” equine specimen to run faster than ever before, even if it means three-quarters of their “foes” break down horrifically and have to be euthanized right there on the track. Hell, it’s already headed that way now; even racing’s so-called fans are starting to grumble about it. And The Jockey Club just straight-up LIES about the ever-increasing death toll of these obscenely-fragile, man-made creatures who are being killed off at a greater rate, and at younger ages, than ever before. Hell, they couldn’t even get to poor Madrone in time to CULL him from their ranks — like they do with roughly 40 PERCENT of the foals they vomit out every year to satisfy their insatiable need to “Grow the Game.” Never mind the thousands of freakishly-fragile, crippled-up, broken-down EX-racers with no hope whatsoever of landing a “new career” — much less, a forever home — when racing’s through with them. I’m talking about all the weanlings-and-younger who are so physically and mentally compromised that they don’t even make it into TRAINING. Where do they all go, Jockey Clubbers? Oh, that’s right; you kill them all.

Thanks for your post explaining some of what I didn’t know for sure but suspected. So, it sounds as if what happens is that basically mutated, so very fragile horses are bred and born, and they don’t stand a chance in life, especially if forced to train or race. It makes all the sense in the world. I did notice that it seemed as if an awful lot of very young horses were dying. How cruel, how sick is that?
