9-Year-Old Standardbred Killed at Batavia

Allstar Energy, nine, broke down (apparently, multiple fractures) in the 6th last night at Batavia Downs and is dead. He is the 12th Standardbred to die at a NY harness track this year; for all NY racetracks, the toll is now 64.

  1. This is UNACCEPTABLE abuse of a Standardbred!!!! I don’t know how a horse in harness gets multiple fractures exactly, but it’s completely UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!
    Are there any State Senators or State Assembly members that care one iota about the INHUMANE TREATMENT and abuse and killing of horses for gambling bets and financial gain in the State of New York?

    • Nah. They all know as well as we do that they’re the only ones who bother to make their horse kills public information. For everyone else, it’s an anonymous horse-killing free-for-all. Yippee!

  2. All so called sports that include animals should be banned forever. It’s just a bunch of greedy rich people that want more. They should hang their heads in shame
