This, every day, is horseracing.
These morally depraved people raced her to death! PEACE BROKER, a Thoroughbred filly, born on April 6, 2018 and killed by racing on March 21, 2021.
I can’t help but think that she was doped to the max…! Just sayin’…!

She was 2. Biological birthday was April 6
While she was biologically 2, in horse racing, horses bred in the Northern Hemisphere become a year older on Jan 1, while horses bred in the Southern Hemisphere become a year older on Aug 1. This is due to seasonal breeding cycles. Otherwise there could be issues with horses that are up to 364 days older than others racing in the same age-restricted races. So that’s why this horse was officially recognized as a 3YO. This way it keeps things less complicated, even if it seems more confusing at first!
It’s not confusing at all, and we know the racing business does this to make age related race conditions easier for them to keep track of. However, it doesn’t take away the fact she was still, biologically, 2. Just because the racing industry says she was 3, doesn’t make it so.
Yes, of course, Kimberly, let’s keep it less complicated for the business. It is what racing says it is, facts don’t count . Also, it is disgraceful to be racing 2yr. old horses to begin with.
Under this rule a horse can legally race at 1yr. and 8mths. Further, as you know these horses are in rigorous training before they race and many, many 2yr. Old horses die because of injuries and the unnatural lifestyle they are forced to endure.
Training, racing and imprisonment in tiny stalls 23hrs/day is detrimental to any horse’s physical and mental wellbeing and even more so for those not mature for another 4years.

Wow! Lucky girl! She got to live TWO WHOLE YEARS of life! And, part of it, confined most of the day, alone in a stall.

Peace Broker never was loved. She was abused, horribly. That’s the story of these victims. At least she didn’t end up upside down, hanging by her leg, in a slaughterhouse.

Two,three or ten years old, the reality is because of horseracing a life that had possibilities of living until the 20’s was cut short
Right, Nancy. With proper care and genuine love from someone who grasps the concept of true horsemanship, she could have lived to be thirty-something.
Yet another of the myriad abominations that go on constantly, every day on the death tracks, in ‘training”, in their stalls and in the abattoirs. The culprits don’t care one iota about the horses. Those magnificent animals are mere commodities, like sheets of paper, to be used and thrown out. The profiteers show no guilt and are not at all embarrassed by the constant carnage they cause. Horse racing is NOT a sport! It is pure, unadulterated, heartless, evil greed! It must be abolished.
This is time to abolish the horrible and cruel sport of racing horses!
