Ramon Vazquez Beats the Hell Out of His Horse at Oaklawn

The “Essex Handicap” at Oaklawn yesterday was worth a cool $500,000, with the difference between 1st and 2nd $200,000. With that in mind, take a look at the beating jockey Ramon Vazquez administered to his mount, Rated R Superstar, down the stretch (Rated R is the 3 horse):

Folks, if this isn’t animal cruelty then what, pray tell, is?

  1. Omg! 😱😱😱😱 how is this not animal cruelty???? If this was done to a dog or cat they would be arrested? When are we going to stop treating animals differently??? Whether you are talking about a dog, cat, cow horse or sheep, they are all sentient beings! They all feel fear and pain and react to affection! It’s horrendous the way some human beings use animals for personal gain no matter what the poor animal goes through in the process!!!!

    • Ah yes, Tracy it is most certainly animal cruelty but the global horseracing industry for some unfathomable reason thinks it is exempt from committing an act of cruelty upon an animal.
And this is where the governments of the land in horseracing jurisdictions whether it be in the USA, Australia, the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. are acutely negligent in not taking action.

  2. If I sat on top of that little man and beat the hell out of him with a stick I’d go to jail. I live 5 minutes from a horse racing facility and almost every jock I’ve met has little man syndrome; its obvious they take it out on these majestic animals
