Back Under Whip After Over Two Years Away – 21 Lengths Behind

Starship Carnegie was first put to the whip in 2016. From the beginning, she was run exclusively in “claiming” races (meaning she was “For Sale” each and every time out). After an August 2018 race, she disappeared from the charts. “Retired,” perhaps? No, as it turns out: This past Sunday, Starship was forced back onto the track – after over two years away. And the result was what you might expect: Running in the 1st at Mountaineer, the now 8-year-old finished 21 lengths back. The miscreants responsible: owner (and breeder) Starship Stables, trainer Jay Bernardini.

  1. Tell me — is this one of the ways the CRUEL, SADISTIC, UNCONSCIONABLE Owners get rid of Horses? — forcing them to suffer and making as much money as possible before going off to slaughter? — give me a moment to HURL — SHUT DOWN this heinous, immoral criminal brutal industry – FOREVER.

  2. The Injustice of the Innocent & Voiceless! All animals deserve lives free from human-inflicted suffering. As the highest created being, humans have a moral obligation to be wise stewards of animals. Just because we happen to be the most powerful species on earth, we humans have the ability, but not the right, to abuse the so-called lower animals. The ends do NOT justify the means!

We all know that there is something seriously wrong with a food system where the best day of an animal’s life is the day that it is finally over!

Every Living Creature deserves the Right to Live as Nature has intended.

Not only do animal victims deserve to be free from abuse and neglect, but numerous studies show a correlation between animal cruelty and violence toward people—animal cruelty impacts community safety.

If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men.

This is not competition, this is an evil act so horrible and painful against innocent animals. How sad that California still allows this animal abuse and killing!

  3. Ah yes, Jay Bernardini – all “big talk” when Burton Sipp was outed for selling horses right off the track to a kill buyer – HE was going to go to the stewards at Mountaineer and make heads roll (or at least one head). As usual, NOTHING. And let’s hope Starship Carnegie ends up in a better place than Bernardini’s filly, Dewdrop’s Heart, did – the kill pen.
