Chief Commander, two, was killed at Saratoga Monday – “lame after breeze, examination revealed injury to pelvis…euthanized” (Gaming Commission). He is the 16th horse killed on those hallowed grounds this summer. NYRA’s “commitment to equine safety” is smoke and mirrors, folks. Horseracing kills – full stop.

What is it going to take to STOP horse racing? This killing is unacceptable. All it is, is money for these privileged people who say they care about animals.
Were any of these incidents caused by that barbaric Steeplechase?
The ones listed above all died in flat races. Don’t recall any injuries being reported at the steeplechases.

Strange that Chief Commander’s trainer is not listed. Winstar Farm paid $400K for him. So that is a total loss. Writeoff. There is no way a horse works on a track with no trainer. NYRA seems to want to put a spin on horse trainer killers giving them videos on Twitter showing them as hard working and popular. Ask their horses that were crippled and killed. I do keep track of every one. Race tracks try to hide anything bad that goes on there. Transparency.
He had a trainer, but he is not listed because he never started (Equibase doesn’t add trainers to the horses’ profiles until they have their first start). Tried to find who trained him through other websites but he was only available in Equibase. Although we might not be talking about the same horse? Chief Commander was bought for $550k by China Horse Club/Maverick Racing (not that it really changes anything).

Hey, at least New York is still reporting its favorite tracks’ training kills. California has decided to stop recording all Santa Anita deaths — racing, training, or other. All of last year’s negative publicity convinced the fine folks at the Santa Anita Death Track that it would be better for everyone in Cali racing if they just kept facts about their piles of dead horses to themselves.
Worse, apparently the CHRB is just fine with it. They’re making up their own rules for reporting fatalities as they go along, anyway, so…Integrity? Transparency? Hahahahahaha.
Somebody should look into him. He has killed so many 2 yr olds not to mention all the others that were put down. Don’t like him at all

3 horses die on the same day at the same track?!?! Are you kidding me?!?! Maybe we should start rioting at the tracks! Seems that’s the only way $h*t gets attention and action taken! Unbelievable!!!
I won’t be going to ANY horseraces. Too many horses dead.
