Two More Babes Dead at Los Alamitos

The CHRB has disclosed two more deaths at Los Alamitos: Leggolas while training June 18. He was two years old and had been put to the whip twice. Young Dasher back in his stall June 23. He, too, was two and had been under the whip twice. That’s two more equine babies sacrificed for gambling. In the 21st Century.

Voice your outrage: Link this post. Cite data from this website (Los Alamitos now stands at 24 dead on the year; 56 at all California tracks). Tell them horseracing is animal cruelty; horseracing must end.

  1. Just six months into 2020, already FIFTY-SIX (56) innocent horses have had their lives stolen from them when running/training/existing on racetracks in the USA state of California.
    How BLOODY outrageous.

  2. Running two-year-old colts or fillies is so gut-wrenchingly wrong!!!! There are so many things that are so wrong about running horses day after day and forcing the horses to stay in a stall for 23 hours a day instead of letting them graze on pasture and get natural exercise at their own will. Horseracing is so wrong on so many levels!!!! It must be recognized for what it is!!!! It is organized animal abuse of horses. #Endhorseracing
Recognize horseracing as animal abuse and pass legislation to protect horses from racing!!!!
One of the many, many things wrong with horseracing is running them in temperatures above, I’m picking a number here, 78 degrees Fahrenheit. How hot is too hot to leave a dog in a car? I think it’s either 55 or 65 degrees Fahrenheit that makes the temperature in a motor vehicle parked in a parking lot increase so fast that it causes dogs and children to have a heat stroke!!! The same rule of thumb could easily apply to forcing horses to run in training, racing and being locked up in hot, miserable, small space called a stall, with urine and feces.

  3. People forget how young these horses are when they step out on the racetrack, they are two to three years old and are usually whipped and made to run faster on their first run. Greed is the main reason no one cares how young these horses are, they just want the win!

  4. This is an outrage!! Please stop this heinous racing!! Live animals are not for human entertainment! These poor animals after they cannot race anymore are thrown away like garbage! I wish you could throw the owners away!

  5. SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SEND ALL THE RESPONSIBLE UNSCRUPULOUS PERPETRATORS TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. And, it gets worse…AND WORSE.

Los Al just keeps the kills coming, don’t they? The CHRB is falling behind on reporting them all, and the L.A. Times won’t even glance that way, because they’re all about the narrative that Santa Anita is the only track that breaks down and kills racehorses en masse.

Plus, the CHRB’s new Executive Director, Scott Chaney, has deep-rooted ties to Los Alamitos, so, Shhhhhhhh! Mum’s the word on the non-stop equine bloodbath at Los Al. Got it, everyone?

    • I wish I could find a job for Scott Chaney and housing too. The housing would be in the STATE PENITENTIARY and the job would be MANUAL LABOR while SHACKLED. If it were up to me, that’s where all of these serial horse-killers would be: locked up and let out only to work their asses off!!!!!!!!!!
