Two More Dead at Belmont, 42 on the Year

Another day, two more kills at Belmont. The Gaming Commission reports the following from Saturday:

Outside Influence “sustained a LH compound, open distal fx at the 1/16 pole [on] training track and was euthanized.” She was two.

Iswear I’ll Behave “suffered a RF suspensory injury approx 1 to 2 months ago and developed supporting limb laminitis in the LR; declining condition over last 4 days and euthanized.” He was six.

  1. Two lives destroyed on the same day and still people defend this revolting death show. Horses are literally shattering on the racetracks in front of thousands of people and there is no “unnecessary suffering”? I can’t even imagine the twisted psyche of someone who can see a horse endure such horrific suffering and actually try to justify the existence of the industry responsible. There isn’t a place in Hell deep enough for people like this.

  2. May this season of light and joy see an end to racing! And may all those who inflict such pain and suffering on these beautiful, young horses be gone forever!! They even dared to name him “i swear I’ll behave”…obtuse, heartless bastards!
