Yesterday was a big day for Horseracing Wrongs and the horses we are so diligently working to liberate. We sponsored protests at Laurel Park in Maryland, Gulfstream Park in Florida, and held a march/vigil for the fallen in California. Thank you to all who came out, especially to the lead organizers: Brando Lee and Jennifer Sully at Laurel, Holly Wilson at Gulfstream, and Heather Wilson and Amanda Lundberg in Pasadena.

I grew up in this business in the 60’s.
This has been described as the “glory days” of horse racing that will never return.
The “glory days” meant that they could keep their dirty secrets away from the public.
The horse racing industry ensured that no negative publicity was published in the news media, that no racehorse deaths were recorded or published while completely controlling the message to the public.
Not anymore.
I’m so thankful for these courageous, peaceful demonstrators outside of racetracks, some in the bitter cold, spreading the truth about this vile business.
It runs chills down my spine because this is something that I never thought would happen in my lifetime, but always hoped for.
I’m so elated that it has because the racehorses need our voices so badly and it even seems reasonable that I will hopefully witness the dismantling of this horrific business starting with California.
A huge shout out to all brave, peaceful demonstrators.
Together we will put horse racing into the history books where it belongs.

Thank-you for providing me with an outlet for my comments whose sole purpose is to be a voice for the racehorses – they need us all so badly.
To all the racehorses who died in the dirt or on the slaughterhouse floor we will continue to fight on your behalf.
Gina, I am always interested in what you have to say. I am glad you are standing up and speaking up for the horses. They don’t deserve the abusive treatment they are getting.
In late 1980, my husband and I went to a racetrack in Colorado. They showed video replays of all the races that day except one race. That was the race that one red dun colored Quarter Horse went down and never got up again. They hauled her out in a trailer with her hooves up in the air. There was no announcement of exactly what happened and no replay of the race showing the horrific tragedy that occurred so fast, so quickly. The racetrack administration and whoever basically swept the death of this beautiful horse under the rug, so to speak. It was very disturbing and many people there appeared to be alarmed about that whole tragedy. At the time, I had no idea that that type of thing happens so often. I still would not know without HORSERACING WRONGS. ORG and Patrick Battuello being committed to exposing the horror of horseracing. Thank you to all who dedicate their life to putting a stop to this horrendous abuse of horses.
Amen. Especially the ones who went through the slaughter house kill chain. Can’t even fathom the horror.
Thank You Patrick. For your tremendous hard work that has led to more people becoming aware of the sheer EVIL and horrific abuse of horse racing and FOR helping to inspire more people to be Willing to have the COURAGE speak out about it.

For way too long racing lived a lie.The abuse and killing was never challenged and the public didn’t have a clue.
