Thanksgiving Day Kill at Laurel Park

Bo Vuk in the 7th at Laurel yesterday afternoon: “suffer[ed] a catastrophic injury and was euthanized” (Equibase). He was six years old; ’twas his 30th time under the whip.

This is horseracing.

  1. The following, a comment on my FB post about Bo Vuk…

“Anyone willing to look at his last few races will find something seemed way off. He gets claimed by Kieron Magee a former ‘Trainer of the Year’ . This horse ran a 95 equibase speed rating in his first race after getting claimed by Magee which was an unheard of 23 points higher than his last race and the last time this horse even came close to running that fast was 3 years ago when he was 3 years old. The very next race he breaks down, seems suspicious to me, I hope they check for illegal substances in this poor horse’s autopsy.”

    • Yes, from that comment, it does seem extremely suspicious and it gives evidence enough to assume that winning is more important to “racing people” (also known as monsters among other words used to describe them) than the horse’s welfare, well-being, health, HAPPINESS, OR LIFE.

I do hope that a legal investigation will be conducted by authorities outside of the “good ol’ boy” network of monsters that make their living off of the horses. It is evident that they are doing a lot of things wrong and it definitely needs to be investigated and some one (more than one) needs to be charged and convicted of all the abusive acts committed against this horse, Bo Vuk.
