Horse Jumps Fence in Race at Los Alamitos – Dead

In the most recent Stewards Minutes for the LA County Fair, one “fatality” is listed for the week 9/16-9/22. Through a request to the CHRB, I have confirmed that the fatality in question was Contratto in the 7th race on the 22nd – officially, “stumbled leaving the gate, unseated the rider, then jumped a fence and was injured from the fall, requiring euthanasia.” Contratto was three years old.

This is horseracing.

  1. From Saratoga to county fairs and everything in between racehorses are dying and it’s going on daily.
Today I would like to spotlight an abusive “trainer,” dumper, maimer, and killer called Patricia Farro.
I refer to her as Python Pat.
Now I’m sorry to all the true Pythons who have more morals than this monster, but she continually claims racehorses who have PAID THEIR DUES, have made lots of money, are being passed around like a hot potato year after year, and she squeezed the last bit of life out of them time and time again.
When they are maimed they usually disappear off the radar or they die on the track.
This lady should be IN JAIL on animal abuse charges.
She trains for the “connected” race stable on the PA racing circuit such as Vacarro and Gumpster Stables.
Gumpster has a multitude of previous investigations including one that garnered attention from the FBI who, more or less, claimed that they are organized crime.
Yet, the racing commissions continue to permit them to run and kill racehorses.
    Let’s start with Python Pat.
Every single day she’s running, on average, 6 racehorses, usually more, but sometimes less.
Just a brief glimpse into her victims that she claims, squeezes the life out of, dumps and/or kills:
ROMAN REIGN. 8 year old gelding who has earned over $225,000 (that’s a quarter million dollar folks), has been passed around like a ping pong ball, and Python Pat now has him where he continues to be beaten at bottom claimers where blood sucking human parasites like Python Pat continues to squeeze him dry.
BANANA ANNA. 7 year old mare who has earned over $290,000 and this STILL isn’t enough to get her a decent home as Python Pat continues to run her and squeeze her until she can’t give no more or drops in the dirt.
GURT BOYS.A 6 year old gelding whose made over $250,000 and Python Pat will be sure to squeeze him dry unless another human parasite claims him and continues the abuse.
OGEECHEE $80,000. BEST CHOICE. $100,000. Both are owned by GUMPSTER STABLES who teams up with Python Pat because they both have the same goals and mentality. Claim, squeeze them dry, maim them, dump them or kill them.
Neither Python Pat nor Gumpster Stables has any intention of taking care of the hundreds of racehorses whom they’ve maimed and killed over the years – NONE.
The racehorses are there to exploit, squeeze dry, and if they drop dead – oh well so be it, there are plenty others to maim and kill with ZIPPO repercussions.
Now I’ve left the best to last if you can imagine that it’s worse.
Back in 2017 Gumpster Stable made almost $90,000 off their victim SHARP STICK who was clearly showing problems, probably chronic issues being doped and run. Of course their SECRET doping/vet records keeps their private little abusive/killing ring up and running. On Feb. 1, 2017 he dropped, and was “vanned-off” never to appear again so we can presume him to be dead.
GUMPSTER STABLE has been involved with 16 different racehorse syndicates over the years and that’s what we know about.
I left the best to last though JACK O LIAM.
This 7 year old gelding made over $300,000 and that STILL wasn’t enough for these blood sucking human leeches to give him a decent respectful retirement because squeezing them dry is the name of the game.
He was used, abused, tossed around, claim after claim track after track, running his butt-off for these human monsters and NOBODY cared about him.
In his last race taken directly from pro-horse racing site Equibase?
“was ASKED at the top of the stretch.” My capitalization because “asked” means beaten/whipped.
After all, this was his 69th start!!!
    It continues from there:
“came under a right-handed WHIP outside the sixteenth-pole, switched to left hand WHIP late and gamely prevailed.”
You FUCKING LOW LIFE PIECES OF SHIT.
Don’t you EVER tell me that you care about these racehorses because all the people in the stands watching this blatant cruelty and abuse while placing your stupid $2 bets are just as bad as the perpetrators of this horrendous business that has NO PLACE in a civilized society.
That goes for the stewards on the racing commissions as well.
JACK O LIAM couldn’t give anymore.
You poor soul I feel for you and I sincerely hope that your abusers get cancer and suffer greatly because it doesn’t even come close to the abuse that you endured you poor darling.

    • Gina Powell,
Thank you for that recital of consummate sociopathic acts by people like Python Pat, Gumpster Stable and others. I can just hear their denials, lies, excuses and likely, attacks on the messenger such as yourself. We must hold state legislators and attorneys general guilty for not doing something to build and enforce comprehensive animal abuse laws. We must hold newspapers and other media outlets responsible for not telling the true story, continually, of what happens on a daily basis to horses on racetracks and off. I seethe when I read the sports writers’ reporting on racing!! And, the bettors are always responsible, but the general public needs to step up to the plate and vote out legislators who will not pass better animal rights laws.
The life and death of JACK O LIAM was pure hell.

  2. I’ve always loved watching horse racing but since learning about all the deaths of these young horses I’ve become disgusted at how they are treated. It’s just a money game and some of the people could care less about how these young horses are handled. There are certainly some people who do care about treating their horses well but until horse racing is overhauled and more restrictions are made for the care of these great athletes deaths will continue!

    • Ask any equine veterinarian who is not on the take in the horse racing industry.
“Speed kills”, is what they will say.
There is no way to reform pushing a horse to run fast.

  3. At Fort Erie, years ago, a fully named Puss N Boots jumped the fence and went for a swim in the infield pond. I don’t beleive she was injured-miracle of miracles.
Now, they have a race named for her. The winning jockey runs across the fence, jumps the fence, and takes a dip
In the pond. And everyone laughs.
How many horses, maddened by pain, panicked by the noise of the crowd, jump that fence, simply trying to escape? People at Ft Erie laugh now, but how many horses have died jumping those fences?
