Belmont Strikes Again; Shut This Killing Field Down – Now

This morning, I reported on Belmont’s 29th victim of the year. Tonight, number 30. In the 3rd race today, Meet Me in L A, says Equibase, “went wrong just inside the three-eighths and got placed to an immediate protective hold before being pulled up just past the five-sixteenths with an injury to the right hind and was euthanized.”

“And was euthanized.” Again. And again. And again. And again…

Look, we’re so far beyond proving NYRA to be liars with their “demonstrably safer racing.” It’s high time the media begins locking in like it did with Santa Anita this spring. There is carnage going on at another of America’s premier racetracks. Do your job; cover it. As for this state’s regulatory agency – the NYS Gaming Commission – if your words “equine safety” are to hold any meaning, shut this track down. Now. Since opening back up for business just over two weeks ago, eight – yes, eight – horses have died. What is happening there is not just immoral, it’s downright criminal.

  1. stop stop stop the cruelty. the ones with the know-how DO NOTHING. BOYCOTT THIS PLACE AND ANY OTHER HORSE RACING PLACES.

  2. Everyone who thinks that The New York Gaming Commission is in place to oversee or regulate any of this intolerable activity is mistaken,in reality the NYRA runs the gaming commission. When the public witnesses all of this immoral activity and the regulatory commission turns a blind eye. The next question that runs through my mind is “who is getting more than their fair share of the pie” where is the money? show me the money, follow the money right into the pockets of the politicians and their elected race officials. Ex: Mr. C.Hayward. Do you really think those types of tricks stopped with Hayward getting caught.Trust me it’s business as usual, they just haven’t got caught yet.

    • Racing is a law unto itself.
There is no effective oversight in this business and there is zero accountability. The business makes what rules there are, breaks the rules, changes the rules and lies with impunity.
There is ZERO protection for the horses.
Racing is solely interested in protecting the money and the lawless gambling business it is.

  3. Been stating this openly for several months now; the media has been laser-focused on Santa Anita deaths since they hit their “disastrous” numbers of ONLY 17 – 18 dead thoroughbreds this past winter meet, which grew quickly to 30, then beyond. Meanwhile — as usual — every other track in the country is ALSO killing off racehorses, seemingly as quickly as possible. And the response is…what? Nary a peep from these same reporters, who seem utterly incapable of looking at the big picture.
    Wake up, journalists:
    EVERY TRACK IS SANTA ANITA.
They are ALL DEATH TRACKS for their equine participants.

  4. Stop the killing. Shut Belmont down. I hope Belmont’s property is turned into a mall, or housing development, since the county is building an Arena on a portion of Belmont’s land. End horse racing now.

    • It’s my understanding that the track is owned by the state of New York and leased to the NYRA. When the land becomes more valuable than the revenue received they will demolish the track. The last track in Michigan is running its last season now. The property was sold for luxury housing.

  5. Horseracing is the Killing Fields, and it needs to be stopped now!! Please stop killing these magnificent animals. This is so sad.

  6. Sports are for humans not animals,.
Animals did not chose to be there,
It’s humans that put them there and
Sooo many are dying. Where’s the
humanity in this? PLEASE KEEP THE ANIMALS OUT OF YOUR FUCKING GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Yet another list confirming widespread suffering and/or carnage.
Nevertheless, there are people behind these killings that are repeatedly get away with this.
So I went through every racehorse, which confirmed the same old trainers doing the same old killings.
Todd Pletcher – a killing machine over the years and still at it. His owner, Barry K. Schwartz watches and pays for his racehorses who die and does it all over again. Racehorses like SPEKE and LA FUERZA were the victims in this latest round.
The horse racing family the “Englehart’s” are killing machines every single one of them.
Dad and CEO CHRIS ENGLEHART has been killing racehorses for years on the New York circuit.
This time CATPSALM was his victim.
Like father – like sons who carry on the tradition of killing racehorses.
Son Jeremiah Englehart didn’t kill just one this round, but 3.
The 3 victims of Jeremiah this round (because there are plenty more before these ones) are: MISS MARION, PASSPORTTOVICTORY, LUZ MIMI a 6 y.o who made over $200,000, dumped into the claiming ranks, changed hands many times and Jeremiah finished her off. What a monster.
The other son, Jeffrey Englehart, carries on the torch from there killing PRETTY ENUFF who made over $300,000, was dumped into claiming and ended up with killer Jeffrey. He didn’t disappoint.
Gender is no factor when it comes to these racehorse killers “trainers” Linda Rice is at it again.
She didn’t kill just 1 in this round, but 2 – par for the course for Linda Rice, her latest victims QUEEN BODE and RHODE ISLAND.
Trainer Danny Gargan has been popping up on my killing list lately.
This time he has 2 victims MISS MARILYN and CHRONOS – racehorse killer with zippo repercussions.
Bill Mott only killed 1 this round MISS MIMOSA.
Rotten Rudy Rodriquez – a killing machine that this business continues to support by permitting him access to racehorses, stalls, training and racing.
Rudy has 2 victims this round INFLECTION and DEFT.
Every single racehorse killer listed above has killed before, has never been persecuted for their kills, and continues to kill.
Death all around them and nothing is done.
“Investigations” that lead to nowhere because there are races that need to be filled.
    Downright vile, unacceptable

  8. I am feeling VERY HOPEFUL…that what the Leader Patrick and all of you wonderful people at HRW’s are doing is working.I tuned in today to tvg,and Churchill Downs looked EMPTY. I mean I’m not kidding!!! it was beyond pathetic. This VILE mess of TORTURE is on it’s last breath.

  9. Doping/vet records 101.
The doping/vet records and/or any treatments are kept SECRET – PRIVATE.
These records DON’T FOLLOW THEM from track to track, from trainer to trainer.
For example, you change vets for your dog/cat, and the first thing they ask for are the vet records.
In fact, you fill out a form to disclose the medical history of your pet.
Vet/medical records are exchanged every day all over this country to carry on the continuity of the health and welfare of your domestic pet, to prevent repeated invasive procedures, to ensure that your pet doesn’t have to be stressed out some more and for public safety re: vaccinations.
Makes sense right because these are practices that demonstrate people who care.
    Not horse racing.
They fight hard to keep their doping/vet records secret which facilitates and/or contributes to the ongoing suffering and dying on a massive scale.
These human parasites knowingly and willingly pass serious problems onto others so that they don’t have the financial responsibility of taking care of that horse when problems arise.
When they can’t dump a racehorse in the claiming ranks well it’s usually off to the kill auctions so that “extreme animal rights activists” (their words) can dig deep into their pockets to rescue their disposable gambling chips while they flip billions in wagering profits.
You would think that they would be grateful to “extreme animal rights activists” who pay for the broken bodies and spirits of their dumped commodities?
After all if somebody rescued one of my “family members” from a kill auction I would be grateful.
Their continued focus and hatred heaped upon “animal rights activists” clearly show that they don’t care because they would be focusing on people in their business that kill them, hold them accountable and shut this down.
    Makes sense right?
