From the NYS Gaming Commission: “Dash For The Cash died following 2nd place win [at Monticello Tuesday] in route to the barn.” No other details were given, but Dash was 11 – prime of life for a horse, old (because of the incessant grinding) for a racehorse. He is the 7th kill at Monticello this year – extraordinary for a harness track.
What horrible news. This MUST end!!! *Horse Racing must end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* RIP precious angel!!

I’ve never followed racing – harness or otherwise – but I know absolutely nothing about harness racing. I receive tack catalogs on a regular basis and one in particular (Big D’s)caters exclusively to the racing industry. Looking at some of the equipment in the harness racing section reminded me of some of the medieval torture devices. I can’t imagine actually using it on a horse.
Seriously just died on his way to the barn – what do these people think that the world is really that stupid? This is just as cruel as the horse racing – too many ignorant horse owners, trainers, etc that don’t care about the horses just the god damn win circle and their greed. Something was drastically wrong with this poor animal and it wasn’t just a f*ckin stroll to the barn that killed him. Check this story out there is way more involved here than what Is being told. All of these racing facilities need to be shut down and the sooner the better horses are being killed off daily at the hands of these god damn abusers. Shame on all of you and shame on the people that keep attending these ridiculous races – If you could only see what goes on in the back ground you might just find another way to spend your time and money!!!
Reblogged this on Armory of the Revolution.
Anyone who truly loves horses wouldn’t/couldn’t condone any of this….racetrack racing, steeple chasing, or harness racing. I’ve only seen harness racing a couple of times on T.V. (or should I say, a very short time). I can’t stand the jockeys using whips on the horses, but they continually whip the horses in Harness Racing. I’m thankful that Patrick works so very hard so that one day the horses will be treated with the respect they deserve, and the people, all of the people, will be held accountable for the horrific treatment, unnecessary deaths that have happened to these special animals throughout the years.
Horse was driven by Hunter Oakes. His dad is one of the biggest juicers in harness racing, having multiple positive tests. There’s definitely more to this.
