Successful Mission, says the NYS Gaming Commission, “sustained fractures while breezing [at] Belmont” June 9; “radiographs revealed fractures which resulted in the horse being euthanized.” He is the 16th such horse at Belmont Park this year.
This is horseracing.
Reblogged this on Armory of the Revolution.
According to Equibase, SUCCESSFUL MISSION had not started yet.
There’s a clear official workout schedule.
There is no auction history, but as anything in this deeply corrupt business SEQUEL STALLIONS was the breeder so it’s highly possible they were also the owners.
I’ve mentioned on other posts that owner of Sequel Stallions, BECKY THOMAS, has a long history of beating young racehorses into the ground at such sales as Keeneland and OBS.
She made a fortune buying, flipping, and selling racehorses at the sales.
She would often get the fastest times out of them and former exercise riders claims that she would give a huge bonus for beating the crap out of the horse resulting in a fast time.
I complained at Keeneland when I saw about 10 of her babies get beaten so bad it was disgusting and this is when I was an apologist.
Of course nothing was done.
Then the doping scandal.
Former sales employees in Florida were complaining that needles were being given to these young babies before going out to the track and several went into convulsions and died in their stalls or out on the track.
As soon as an “investigation” and stronger scrutiny was introduced Becky hightailed it out of Florida and went up to New York where she continues her abusive business practices with no repercussions whatsoever.
Does it surprise anybody that Bob Baffert has purchased many horses from her?
Many of these horses who subsequently died were, allegedly, under equine insurance policies.
Then she claimed that the dope she was given was “contaminated” and the investigation led to nowhere.
Welcome to the wonderful world of horse racing!
