  1. The carnage continues unabated.
A horse down on the ground critically injured in the background.
The upright horse has a severely broken left hind leg, his huge heavy body held up by only 3 legs.
His sickening pain, fear and shock as to what has happened to him is unbearable to think about.
    It makes me sooooooo angry!
And the horseracing industry continues to do nothing about it.

  2. Patrick the picture with the two injured horses above. Was it a regular race or a steeplechase accident. Can you tell us what track this was also?

  3. Why is it that in the past year or two,The racing associations especially NYRA van off the catastrophic breakdowns only to euthanize the injured horse in the barn area out of sight? No more immediate euthanization behind the big blue screen on the track.I always believed the euthanasia was done as soon as possible to shorten the suffering in a humane way.Racing,in it’s very poor efforts to control damage can’t even handle this process in a dignified way for the horse.I guess it really is all about the image and money,it has nothing about being humane towards the horse,it never was and it never will be.To make matters worse the racing association and the jockeys guild has the nerve to ask everyone for a handout and a donation for the permanently disabled jockeys fund. This is the profession the jockeys chose, don’t come to me for money, let the jockeys at the top take care of their own.Instead of NYRA management stealing an extra two percent from the take for their personal selves, instead of NYRA management using NYRA maintenance to paint your house, let management donate a portion of their I’ll gotten gains. If for some reason i’m out of work or lose my job,let me know WHO DO I GO TO AT NYRA FOR MY DONATION? Can they at least send a worker over to wash my car once a month? This is one filthy game! Top to bottom.

  4. That photo is heart breaking – yet how many times is it repeated on a daily basis on tracks all across America? HSUS and PETA have be profiting from this vile industry if they will not call it what it is: torture and abuse, plain and simple.

I only hope the jockeys on the ground never got up again…….
