A “Bad Step” Kill at Monmouth

I have confirmed that Red Gum is dead after “taking a bad step” in the 9th at Monmouth yesterday. He was three years old; ’twas his 9th time under the whip.

This is horseracing.

  1. I was there with my fiancee watching when Red Gum for injured. That poor animal was suffering. Watching them put him down was even worse.
    Truth is, they never should have been running in that weather to begin with. What kind of a maniac runs his horse in those conditions?

    • Thank you for sharing, David. But please do consider never going back to that or any track. This is not an isolated incident; horses die every day across America.
