A Kill at Gulfstream; Another at Santa Anita

Killing, from coast to coast yesterday: Killer Kitten in the 5th at Gulfstream; Psychedelicat in the 5th at Santa Anita. Both were four years old.

This is horseracing – every day.

  1. Tomorrow starts a new year, and Patrick begins his list of the dead racehorses for 2019. I don’t imagine it will take but maybe a day or 2 to see names start accumulating on there. And sadly, the new year will also see the abuse of horses that we have seen mentioned on this site, continue. Girlie’s Dream, Saratoga Angel, and so many more are already entered to race again this week. And tomorrow, racehorses in America will automatically have a birthday, so how many 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 year old horses will we see this year who’s abuse will continue, as they are exploited and run mercilessly into the ground by their connections, week-after-week? Let’s contunue to spread the word into the new year, let’s continue to be a voice for them, and let’s hope this “sport” continues to decline in 2019!

  2. Horrible.
Yesterday, Race #7 at Gulfstream the maiming continued as STEELMAN RUN broke down and was vanned-off.
This 8 year old horse who made over $240,000 the hard way changed hands via claiming, was shipped all over the country at different tracks while being continually dumped and probably doped and not one of these exploiters ever took this horse and provided him with a home.
Instead, they continued to abuse him, exploit him, squeeze the lemon dry until he couldn’t give anymore.
These people are blood sucking parasites who just keep sucking until they drop.
Shame on trainer Cheryl Winebaugh, owners Silver Leaf Stables and on Frank Stronach who continues to support and provide the venue for the continued massive pain, suffering and dying on his tracks.
