  1. The horror story continues and those who have the power to intervene, do NOTHING!

  2. If football players died during the game the sport would be banned. I know football players get injured — but dying (with screens around as they are carted off dead)

  3. This “vanned off” stuff is agonizing to read. A lot of the worst-of-the-worst horse racing takes place in California, of all states. I’m beginning to think that all Liberals REALLY care about is socialism and illegal immigration and that they only pay lip service to animal rights in order to pick-up another voter base. I doubt horse-racing would fly in ‘Frisco, of course, but the rest of the state seems fine with it. Has word gotten out in California? It would be the perfect state to start a smack-down of the racing industry, and a smack-down might then spread out more widely across the country.

    • Liberal or conservative has nothing to do with this issue – that is a foolish basis for an argument. This is all about greed and money, NOT political party. The fact is, the only people who are trying to put an end to this is animal rights advocates, activists, and compassionate people of all types. If you insist on getting political about it, you are more likely to find liberals with that interest since that is more in line with their values, but this is an issue that attracts ALL decent and evolved people.

  4. LINDA RICE a trainer who continues to maim and/or kill racehorses is at it again.
I don’t think that there’s 1 week that goes by where one of the racehorses under her brutal regime doesn’t get maimed or killed.
SILVER TOKEN is another one of her victims, and to read the Equibase chart is a bloody horror show for these poor racehorses.
    AQUEDUCT, December 9, 2018 Race #4:
Silver Token ……shied in sharply in reaction to CAUSE FOR APPLAUSE shying in due to TAILSPIN veering in from the outside….Silver Token got put to a protective hold entering the turn and was pulled up with three-eighths to go and subsequently vanned-off.
All 3 of these racehorses were fighting for their lives, fighting to just get through the unreasonable demands forced upon them for $2 bets.
Absolutely VILE and totally outrageous that politicians like Gov. Cuomo keeps this creep show going.
The billions being given to the NYHBPA and/or purse accounts is not only a total waste of money, but it’s these poor horses that are taking the brunt of it all even losing their lives, and these people who claim to treat them like “family members” are blatant bold-faced liars and delusional pieces of crap.
I’m done with the bogus “investigations” and the enablers of this blatant animal abuse, and cruelty.
Take this entire business and shut it down – it’s the only way.

  5. YOU ARE WRONG! Hispanics both legal and illegal work at the tracks. Go down to Mehico and see how they treat animals. Educate yourself. Most jockeys are Hispanics. Most grooms are Hispanics. Liberals can’t get enough of them into the country! I worked at Golden Gate Fields back in the 1970’s. The tracks are getting worse and worse because the people are getting worse and worse. Pity the horses.

    • They “work there?” They would not have a job if “big money” did not keep the tracks going. You seriously think grooms are financing the racing industry? This is really the best one yet, for the problems “illegals” cause in the US. Now they are responsible for deaths and mistreatment of racehorses, because of course they own expensive racehorses and manage the industry. Oh, and FYI, wealthy people want cheap labor that allows them to keep up their own lavish lifestyles. They don’t really care where it comes from, as long as it’s readily available.

  6. Horrible news coming out of New Jersey today.
GOP lawmakers passed an appropriations bill to send 100 MILLION dollars to the New Jersey Racing Commission to financially support horse racing – bastards.
    See what I mean?
It’s going to take voting in animal friendly politicians who would have spent this 100 MILLION on much needed community projects instead of this vile business.
They have no problem shutting out the racehorses of their limbs, and lives while they are the ones generating the profits.
New Jersey horse racing was pretty much finished until today.
This will mean that thousands of racehorses will suffer for the purse money that the government has decided to give to horse racing instead of hard working taxpayers who deserve so much more.
Horse racing will end and laws like this can be abolished with the right politicians in power.

  7. Did you create a Petition to the NJ Lawmakers to force them NOT to send this money to support Horse Racing ? — We MUST convince them the majority of people are opposed to this brutal industry! — Get that Petition going — How could they! — with all the facts of cruelty to these horses exposed, they STILL choose to support this draconian, depraved industry? — It’s downright despicable AND immoral.

    • I’m working on the petition right now and should have it posted by tonight.
I would do it now, but I’m super busy working on some other things.
If somebody wants to go ahead please do it because I won’t be able to until around 11 pm.
Care 2 petitions please help these racehorses.

Please everybody check back I will provide a link, and please be a voice for the racehorses.
In the meantime, please TWEET to this Senator who started the bill:
Sen Vin Gopal his twitter account is: @vingopal

Preliminary research, and we are working on it, seems to support the fact that he’s in with the bookmakers, wagering firms to open up hundreds of wagering outlets in India to generate billions in wagering profits.
His hands are dirty it seems.
Thousands of more racehorses will DIE for this Senators greed, and for all the other apologists.

  8. Mahoning valley, zia park, charlestown all tracks leased or managed by penn gaming. I wont point out any horse specifically because i simply dont want anything to happen to them or have them disappear, but folks have a look at these horses and their racing records, look them up and see how they have been running their age the about of times theyve run it shows a clear story of what the horses go through.

    • Yes, Billy…killing grounds, all of them. And horses disappearing? – it happens all of the time and no one in racing cares.

These low-level tracks – the majority in this industry – are utilized by those who are in this business to make their living…they are not the wealthy for whom owning racehorses is “prestigious” and ego-stroking. These low-level owners, trainers, jockeys, stewards, racing secretaries, etc. NEED these dumps to remain open – they’ve got bills to pay. And ridding these tracks of the pond scum would leave them with very few horses with which to fill a race card. So they all turn away and leave the crippled and over-worked horses waiting for help that will never come.

      • Yes and most of these low level tracks as we know, are supported by subsidized slot money, and would not exist without being propped up by the states government. All the while little to no protection is afforded to the horses. There are also no shortage of owners who send their horses to these low level tracks who can no longer proform at the higher tracks or have injuries that prevent them from passing pre race, the horses suffer for everything all the meanwhile running twice sometimes 3 4 times a month….running running running sore injured and used up and yes waiting for the help that will never come. Few get lucky but the industry has no answer or solution to the problem(s)

  9. Wait for It “eased…when lame” at Parx….there was another horse in this race named hidden funds here is the horses running line….HIDDEN FUNDS, in tight entering the first turn, fell far back back, was pulled up and his rider jumped off mid stretch and he was walked back to the unsaddling area ….both horses were a dnf (rightfully so) but how does one rider pull the horse up jump off, but yet the other continues to ride a lame horse eased or not why? Doesnt make sense for anyone to do this

    • I saw that too, Billy, and wondered about it. I’ve never seen a jockey jump off a horse unless it was broken down, much less walk it all the way back to be unsaddled. I found it odd. Curious to see when that horse will pop up in the races again and how it will fair next time.
